Welcome to Gardens Ottawa. As a capital city, Ottawa boasts many attractions, historic buildings, landmarks and famous sites. Ottawa is also a garden city with over 140 gardens, linked in the city centre by the Rideau Canal (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and the Ottawa River and scattered throughout the urban and rural landscape of the larger city area. The 140 gardens shown on the Ottawa Gardens Map are located in all manner of places, lending their beauty to public and private settings, parks, memorial sites, community centres, roof tops, green walls and more, including many member community gardens across the city.
In May, the city hosts the Annual Canadian Tulip Festival, attracting local, national and international visitors. In June, Ottawa Garden Days celebrates the love of gardening and the variety of garden experiences that Ottawa has to offer. This year to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, a new National Capital garden experience, the Garden Promenade is being unveiled. Whether you are an International visitor, coming from elsewhere in Canada, or live in the city, if you have a love of gardens, there is a garden experience waiting for you in Ottawa.
